BEST CLUB IN DUNDEE
Dundee university volleyball club is a place to be! There are two sides to the club, one which is very competitive and emotional, and another which is very social. Which side is bigger? Still being debated.
DUVC is one of the strongest clubs in the university and has experienced lots of success at all levels over the last few years. The woman’s team has won the Scottish plate and competes in the top Scottish University league. The men’s team is at it’s strongest in years and have high hopes for the forthcoming season, after reaching the final of the ’08 Scottish Uni’s cup. The club currently has 5 teams, in different divisions to suit all abilities, so there is definitely a space for you in a competitive team. However if you don’t feel like being in a competitive game (that will change, trust me) friendly matches are often organized. All teams have an exciting year ahead, so if you are enthusiastic and want to play, come along and show us your skills. The volleyball club is also a fantastic opportunity for people who want to try a fun new sport (experience is non-essential!) and make some great friends in the process.
On the social side of things here is a little report of last years events: numerous nights out in our sponsor pub, poker tournaments, pub crawls, Hawaiian night, Blues and Colours ball, Scottish open volleyball tournament in Perth (the last one may appear sporting, however its more like camping for a weekend with 2 kegs and 30 other people). We even took about 20 people for a weekend in Frankfurt, playing volleyball and sampling the local nightlife. Who knows where this years club trip could take you! The rest may slip my mind…(your friends at DUVC advise you, please drink responsibly).
