How can I describe us? A group of sexy, fit and fun people. We cater for all levels of play: advanced, intermediate and beginners. Competitively we enter the Scottish University’s league and play in the local area cups and leagues so start bribing the captain’s with money and drinks if you want to play for the 1st teams. But don’t worry, there is always plenty chance to play. This year, friendly matches will be arranged against local clubs and other Universities so everyone who wants to play will get the chance, whatever your level. The club is also hoping to organize a University wide tournament to establish the best player in Dundee.
For those without that competitive edge about them, training sessions all year round involve plenty of social practice and banter. “Scotland is too cold, wet and windy for tennis” I here you say! Problem solved; over the winter months on Wednesday afternoons we will play at Next Generation Monifieth. Our club coach Iain Woodcraft takes these sessions and is superb, one of the top coaches in Scotland.
On possibly a more important note, socially the club is excellent and is not just about playing tennis. It offers the chance to meet people, maybe even get lucky, and many crazy nights out. Initiation, Pub crawls, Pub golf, House parties, BBQ’s and discounted food and drinks from our sponsor bar.
This is going to be a great year for tennis so make sure you join. Come along to any of the training sessions or sign up at the freshers’ fair. Please feel free to contact any of the above committee for more information.
