The Dundee University Taekwon-Do Club is affiliated to the UKTA which is a part of the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF). We train under Miss Zoë Tate, 4th Degree black belt and Mr Robert Dolan, 4th degree black belt. Our Instructors love to teach those that wish to learn Taekwon-do and between them they have over 25 years experience in teaching Martial Arts. All students are expected to have a licence under the ITF, for their safety, at the cost of only £25 a year. Taekwon-Do is a Korean martial art, literally meaning the way of hand and foot fighting and, drawing on elements of several different martial arts, it is scientifically the most powerful art in the world. There are 3 distinct disciplines to Tae Kwon-Do: patterns, sparring and power testing.

So why join the Taekwon-Do Club? The University Club is one of the few clubs around to offer traditional Taekwon-Do as used by the Korean military. There is a competition aspect to Taekwon-Do for those who wish to enter, with opportunities to compete at local and national level and possibly even further for enthusiastic students. In fact, our instructor Miss Zoë Tate was World Champion whilst studying at Dundee University and training at the club. There will also be the opportunity to attend regular seminars with masters, which are an excellent way to further ones training.

The Club also offers a range of extra events from nights out at our sponsor pub to training on the beach and an annual summer camp as well as other social events. No experience of martial arts is necessary; indeed most of those who join the club have never trained in anything before. You are more than welcome to join at any time of year, so come along and have a go!
