Lessons: Lessons are available for beginners and intermediates for skiing and snowboarding. These are a block of 6 lessons lasting one hour each and taught by fully qualified staff. Lessons are organised at the dry slope in Edinburgh, which we go to every weekend.
Competitions: There are three main competitions throughout the year. SUDS and BUDS take place on the dry slope in Edinburgh and BUISC takes place in Xscape in Glasgow. They are available for both skiers and snowboarders. We encourage all abilities to join in even if you don’t want to race and the training really improves your technique. Training for competitions takes place every weekend at the dryslope in Edinburgh in the first semester. To take part in competitions we encourage you to come to at least two training sessions prior to the competition.
Holiday!!!: At Christmas we run our own ski trip in conjunction with other universities to a lively resort in Europe for a week long laid back holiday with lots of skiing/boarding and partying!! This trip has been a massive success over the past 3 years. The Easter trip is run by British University Snowsports Council
(BUSC) where around 2000 students from across the country descend on the Alps for a week of skiing, partying and racing. Both trips are reasonably priced and offer something for all abilities and are always massively enjoyed!
Social Events: We have a jammed packed social scene as well as all the above. We meet every Thursday in Braes where we get drinks promos, free food and organise trips for the weekend to come. We have several themed nights, which are held on a Wednesday throughout the year. We start the year with Sumo night on the first Wednesday. Other nights include Toga beer and curry night! Tinsel Toga! and Pub Ski! These are always a huge success!!!
