The Dundee University Roller Hockey Club is one of the youngest clubs the Sports Union has to offer, as well as being one of fastest most exciting sports around. A friendlier version of ice hockey, roller hockey is a minimal contact sport (so there’s nothing to worry about!) played with 5 players, on inline skates (rollerblades) with an indoor puck.  The club operates under the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) rules with some small changes which makes the sport fast paced and exciting to play.

The club plays matches against other university teams (Edinburgh, Aberdeen and St Andrews) throughout the year in the Scottish University Roller Hockey League (SURHL). This season we hope to organise more friendly games against local teams from the Dundee and Fife area as well as playing our league matches during the university semesters.  This year we also hope to try and compete in the British University National Championship.

Whether you’re a beginner or roller hockey’s answer to Wayne Gretzky the club is an excellent place to gain new skills and develop existing ones. A friendly, fun loving club we train hard, work hard and play hard – both on and off the pad so come along and give it a try!!
