The club has currently got 2 teams playing on a Wednesday and 3 teams playing on a Saturday. The 1st X1 play National league and the 2nd and 3rd X1 play in the Midlands league. With the 1st and 2nd X1 playing the Scottish Universities league on a Wednesday.
The 1st and 2nd train on a Thursday night at DISC with the 3rd X1 training on a Tuesday night at Riverside sports ground. We also encourage all players to attend conditioning at the Institute of Sports and Exercise to maintain fitness levels.
Whilst we love to succeed on the pitch we also love a great night out! The hockey club is well known as one of the most socially active clubs within the university and this year the ladies hockey club have maintained their sponsorship with the union and Sessions. After matches on a Wednesday we are planning to have regular club nights as well as our annual Christmas Dinner and Burns Supper.
So all that’s left to say is that I hope many of you will come along and choose to join the Ladies Hockey Club, whether you are an international player, school player or have only ever seen a hockey stick once in your life, you will be made very welcome into the Ladies Hockey Club.
