Hi guys and girls, welcome to the University of Dundee Golf Club!!! At present the Golf Club operates with around 30-40 members, and is one of the most active and social clubs within the University. Golf is one of the most traditional and relaxed sports in Scottish culture and here at Dundee you couldn’t be in better golfing surroundings. A 20 minute drive will reach St Andrews, Carnoustie and a host of other top courses.

Don’t worry if you are a higher handicapper or even a beginner. The club currently hold student membership at Drumoig, which is a great inland course and also play at a number of different courses throughout the area. We will also be trying to secure student memberships at Panmure, a great links course which was a favourite of the great Ben Hogan. Our practice session on Thursday nights at the range (Drumoig) will provide you a great opportunity to hit a few balls and get some swinging tips from regular golfers. A bucket of 50 balls is £2.50 and 100 is £4.50. Members are required to pay this themselves.

The University has an Excel Scholarship programme, which provides a high standard of support for the more serious/low handicap golfer. Our major competitions annually are – the Scottish Uni League, Scottish Uni Championships and the British Uni Championships. There are also several friendly matches against local clubs.

The past 3 years have been our most successful to date. Achievements in 2004 include the Scottish Men’s Conference 2A Title and British Uni’s Men’s Shield Champions. In 2005 our female members achieved 2 Order of Merit victories and a British Uni’s Women’s Championship victory. In 2006 we finished 3rd in the "Premier" SUSF league behind the two top teams for the last few years: Stirling and St. Andrews.

Also, one of our members, Kirsty Wells, represented Scotland in the Universities Home Internationals last year. WELL DONE KIRSTY!

The best "social course” in the area has to be the Perth Road "Nine Holer". It is hoped our first round will be early in Term 1, so come along as this will be the ideal time to meet the committee and other club members. We also had a "Pub Golf" night in St. Andrews last year, which was a great night and hopefully will happen again this year. Hope to see you golfers soon!
