Despite the wonderful Scottish weather, Dundee University has a flourishing cricket club. We’re open to all students and staff, regardless of gender, ability, age and shape, so if you’re an experienced cricketer or if you don’t know your silly point from your short leg then come down to one of our training sessions and get involved! Training is quite informal and offers a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere in which to improve and develop your skills or just to meet some people who enjoy their cricket as much as you do! Our membership includes people from as far as Australia, Bangladesh and India, and as close as Belfast and Broughty Ferry, so there’s always scope for banter at the pub afterwards as well!
We compete in two indoor 6-a-side competitions during the winter against other universities, and we have two teams in an outdoor 50-over league in the summer, with games from mid-april to mid-may. So, if you’re itching to get competitive or you just fancy trying something new then you could do a lot worse than join the cricket club! Come and see us at the sports fayre for more details, or have a peek at our shiny website!
