One's initial reaction on arrival at university is to drink one's body weight in alcohol and eat primarily from various take aways/kebab joints...nice. Why not counter and compliment this fantastic lifestyle (which promises to continue throughout your university career) by joining Dundee University Women's Basketball Club?
The club is for everyone, be you a basketball buff kitted out in your baggy finery spinning a ball as you stroll into the room or a complete beginner who just fancies giving the, ultimately, coolest sport going a bash. We train a couple of times a week working on both fitness and skill in preparation for wowing other teams. The team takes part in Scottish University and Local Leagues both home and away so individuals can hope to gain a good knowledge of Scotland's geography on top of some sweet basketball skills. We endeavour to give everyone willing, a game and fun times all round.
On top of the sporting side of things basketball is a very social club and we are regular patrons of various pubs and clubs around Dundee which are host to our notorious annual nights out such as pink t-shirt night, kit night, AGM plus many festive or just plain random nights out.
So, with your help we hope to expand our team and take over the world...or just y'know, play a really fun sport and have some good times. Feel free and completely welcome to come chat at sport's fair or just turn up to training.
