So, do you fancy dressing up like Robin Hood and shooting arrows in a distant wood?? Yeah, well, the role-playing society is for you! If, however, you want to take part in a fun and relaxing sport which has Olympic status then you’re reading the right article.

DUAC members are a highly committed (or is that “they should be committed”??). Either way, we enjoy ourselves and that’s the main thing.

Although archery is not the most instant thought that jumps into your mind when someone says university sport, it is actually a surprisingly popular club given its lack of the limelight. We’ve numerous awards throughout the past few years, which proves that although we’re a relatively small club in comparison, we can still shoot at a competitive level with the bigger universities.

On the social side; after a hard days shooting we retire to the pub for a nice relaxing drink or a good slosh up, it’s up to you. (We’ll even help carry you home!) We also get together with our accomplices ... Oops … I mean … friends from some of the other universities in Scotland for a night in the Union. This has “interesting” results to say the least.

If you’re still reading this article … seek help before it is too late. Alternatively, come over and have a blether with us at the Sports Fayre or email or phone us and come along for a shot and see what you think!
